"Grit", as enunciated in the opening remarks of the EVP GM Evelyn T. Carada, is the theme that pervaded the atmosphere in Fortune Life's First General Assembly in 2018, which was held on Valentine's Day. "Grit" is consonant to Fortune Life's battlecry - "Defying Gravity: Taking a Quantum Leap". Psychologist Angela Lee Duckworth says success doesn't have much to do with intelligence or talent. Rather it's one's ability to stick with something when it's not working out – such ability she calls GRIT.

Medical Director Dr. Nazario A. Macalintal discussed the hazards of smoking. Worksite Senior Manager Floreda C. Constantino made a presentation on Group Insurance Coverage for Employees and Dependents. Recognition were given to 2017 LOMA Fall passers, 2017 Service Awardees and 2017 Most Punctual Employees. Winners were announced and prizes given away for the 2017 Employee Awards.
